Beef
Quality Assurance Goals:
The
Minnesota Beef Quality Assurance (MBQA) program is a voluntary, proactive
program specifically developed to assure that all beef produced is tender,
tasty, safe, wholesome and free of harmful residues. The program is industry-initiated
and intended to strengthen consumer confidence in the overall quality, safety
and wholesomeness of beef. The bottom line is to ensure that all cattle are fed
and maintained in a proper manner in order to provide a high quality beef
product to the consuming public.
Beef Quality Assurance
Objectives:
1. Provide
hands on training and education for participants to meet or exceed the
guidelines of the BQA program and to realize the benefits of the program.
2. Help
you set production standards on your farm or ranch that can be met or exceeded.
3. Establish
systems for data retention and record keeping systems which meet FDA/USDA/EPA
guidelines, will allow validation of management activities and fulfill the
program goal.
4. Prepare participants for certification as Minnesota Beef Quality Assured (MBQA) beef producers and help them become eligible to participate in various marketing programs that require evidence of completion of a BQA training program.
