Minnesota Beef Council Board of Director Election Process
The Minnesota Beef Council is directed by an elected board of 16 producers. To be eligible to serve on the board a person must be a producer of beef or dairy cattle and live in the district he or she will serve. Elections, supervised by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, are held each year during March to fill positions on Minnesota's Beef Promotion and Research Council. District 1: Becker, Clay, Clearwater, Kittson, Mahnomen, Marshall, Norman, Pennington, Polk, Red Lake and Roseau.
District 2 & 3: Beltrami, Cass, Hubbard, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake of the Woods, Cook, Lake and St. Louis.
District 4: Big Stone, Chippewa, Douglas, Grant, Lac Qui Parle, Otter Tail, Pope, Stevens, Swift, Traverse, Wilkin and Yellow Medicine.
District 5: Benton, Carver, Kandiyohi, McLeod, Meeker, Morrison, Renville, Scott, Sherburne, Sibley, Stearns, Todd, Wadena and Wright.
District 6: Aitkin, Anoka, Carlton, Chisago, Crow Wing, Hennepin, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, Pine, Ramsey, and Washington.
District 7: Cottonwood, Jackson, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone, Redwood and Rock.
District 8: Blue Earth, Brown, Faribault, Freeborn, LeSueur, Martin, Nicollet, Rice, Steele, Waseca and Watonwan.
District 9: Dakota, Dodge, Fillmore, Houston, Goodhue, Mower, Olmsted, Wabasha, and Winona.
Producers who have voted in the past and returned the voter confirmation form in 2008 will automatically receive a ballot. Producers who did not receive a ballot during the 2008 election may ask to be placed on the 2009 list by contacting the Minnesota Beef Council at (952) 854-6980 or requesting a ballot by writing to the Minnesota Beef Council, 2950 Metro Drive # 102, Bloomington, MN 55425.
